Stopped in tonight for the first time just passing through. At first I was disappointed because the menu is very small and has alot of stuff I won't eat like dumplings and such but it was pleasantly surprising! We had the chicken and broccoli, young chow fried rice and garlic cucumber. I could've done without the cucumber. They were good because they weren't garlicky at all. In all honesty I wouldn't come rushing back here but it was good. The 4 stars is because the waiter was no where to be found when we needed him.

Coming from Maryland to pick up something in NJ. Stumbled in this little restaurant. I didn’t expect they served quite authentic Shanghainese food. The restaurant is very clean. The food was delicious. Especially the sweet and sour ribs. I think that dish was a real hit to the stomach. All my colleagues loved it. Also their rice has millets mixed in it. It looks nice too.

Shanghai fort Lee was closed, came to give their other location a try. The food was great, had my go to braised pork belly and egg plant . The soup dumplings are always great!! Garlic cucumber is refreshing and delicious, the tofu is full of flavor.

So excited to see an authentic Chinese restaurant opened here. We went to have a small party there, ordered most of their recommendations. Food was amazing, each one was well cooked! Soup dumping was the best I’ve ever had in this region. All of my picky foodies were satisfied. They have plenty of tables, an excellent place for family gatherings. Strongly recommend it for the people who want to experience real Chinese taste.

Ordered take out from here for the very first time. Was ready in 15 mins. Overall score: 4/5. Would return to try other items. Here’s what I go down below with pictures. Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumpling: 4/5 pretty good. The crab meat is literally only the little bit that on the top, there’s no crab inside. The broth and pork inside is good and flavorful. Only down side I felt like the dumpling wrapper was on the thicker and chewy side. But overall, good Scallion Pancake with Beef: 4/5. pictured is minus two pieces eaten from what was served. Quite good too. Not overly greasy. Nice and crispy. Good ration of pancake to the thin beef. Dumplings in Spicy Sauce: 5/5. Really enjoyed these. The sauce was a nice peanut, Sichuan pepper spicy numbing taste sauce. Taste like the sauce that would be in a Dan Dan noodle dish. Sichuan Spicy Hot Noodle: 2/5. Not really sure what went wrong with this dish. It’s the first time me trying it. I guess the way it was packaged for take out was really overwhelming me. It was PACKED with cilantro and green onion, which I do enjoy, but everything was soo packed together it didn’t look appealing. The broth wasn’t quite flavorful, it lacked depth. There was also these piece of something?? I don’t know what they are, and they weren’t in the description of the menu. I did see a rice cake, and maybe a sausage? But I was really confused with all the mysterious meats? And the overwhelming cilantro. I really wish I liked this one. Maybe if they packaged everything separately so that everything wasn’t so soggy and a mess, it would get another star. But overall the flavor was lacking regardless

Went to AJ Shanghai for Palentine’s this past week with five of my closest friends, and it was such a great choice. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming — the perfect escape from a cold, gloomy day. The green tea was exactly what I needed to start — comforting, fresh, and soothing. The food truly stole the show. The crab soup dumplings were incredible — perfectly delicate with so much flavor in every bite. The pork belly was tender, rich, and cooked just right with a beautiful balance of crisp and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The salt and pepper shrimp were seasoned perfectly and had the best crunch. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was the perfect spot to celebrate with friends, enjoy amazing food, and make memories. We left full and already talking about when we’re coming back. Highly recommend!

I checked out this restaurant over the weekend and was glad I did. I went later in the day and there was plenty of seating available. You seat yourself and get your own drinks, and cutlery but they provide chopsticks at the table. This is a BYOB restaurant. A server came out with tea right away (tasty). The menu has a good amount of variety and the prices were pretty good as compared to others I've been to. They have a little buzzer on the table that you can use to call a server which is really helpful. I ordered wonton soup, a beef scallion pancake, garlic cucumbers, and red bean bun (comes with 3 large buns). Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the space itself was well presented. They also have their own parking lot and the bathrooms are clean. I definitely recommend stopping by.

Consistently good food. We’ve been here a number of times and we like it more the more we go. Everything we’ve ordered is just well made and has great subtle flavors. This time we got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, sesame chicken, and beef soup. It was all delicious. My favorite was the beef soup which had a wonderful broth that wasn’t oily and you could taste every ingredient. It’s a big space inside with only one person serving tables. Much of the side work, like getting utensils and water are self-serve. There’s plenty of parking outside in their own lot. As well as outdoor seating on a patio. Prices were great too!
